Refrigerator not cooling but freezer works
Almost always a failed evaporator fan motor, a frosted-over evaporator coil, or a damper control that has stopped opening. On LG and Samsung units it is frequently the fan motor.
Freezer frosting over or building ice
A defrost system fault — the defrost heater, thermostat or control board has stopped running the defrost cycle, so frost accumulates until airflow is blocked.
Water pooling under or inside the unit
Usually a clogged defrost drain tube backing up into the fresh food compartment, or a split water line feeding the ice maker and dispenser.
Ice maker not producing ice
A frozen fill tube, failed inlet valve, or a control module that has burned out. Common on LG French-door models.
Compressor running loudly or constantly
Could be a failing condenser fan, dirty condenser coils, a start relay, or an inverter board on a linear compressor unit.
Warm spots and inconsistent temperatures
Door seals that no longer close, a control board misreading the thermistor, or airflow blocked by an iced evaporator.

Built-in units are a different job from freestanding ones — panels, rails and integrated compressors all have to come apart in the right order, and the sealed system is unforgiving of guesswork.
